Critics Consensus

Creepy and well-acted, The Devil's Hour is a superlative horror series that will have viewers doubting reality as much as its haunted characters.

This supernatural-tinged one is a doozy: suspenseful, well-acted and full of surprises. Go to Full Review

I, for one, am convinced enough by the early episodes to stick around and find out exactly how creepy a kid we’re dealing with this Halloween. Go to Full Review

It's perfectly watchable if all you're after is good old Halloween scare, but anything more and you might want to look elsewhere. Go to Full Review

Ultimately The Devil’s Hour is only a partial success -- clever, high concept and intriguing but not fully able to explore the big ideas at its core, opting instead to maintain the mystery until the end. Go to Full Review

I love this kind of story, but it’s not one you watch to relax. It keeps your mind in high gear trying to figure out how it’s all connected and just what is going on. Go to Full Review

Several corpses and authentic horror scenes round out this mystery that unfolds episode by episode, and that leaves you wanting more. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Jovana M @J_loves_movies 3 hrs ago What a show! Absolutely amazing! I was sceptical at first but it pulls you in and you just have to see what's next! Very complex and excellent developments with each episode. The second season is brilliant as well, this is a must watch See more Aidan S @NoSplat Aug 30, 2026 What’s going on with the 100% critics score? I don’t get it. You gonna tell me that the directing, editing, and acting are perfect? No, that’s just no. So what kind of structure corruption is happening here? Anyway…my opinion? Sure, it’s watchable. Storyline is intriguing enough, it’s shot well, and the aforementioned elements are whatever. If it works for you and you stay with it, the unfolding is rewarding enough. See more KeLorean T @Kelorean Aug 1, 2026 Unlike so many shows, Devil's Hour does not waste your time. The production quality is excellent, and so is the acting. Most of all, it is a compelling story that evolves as it goes. This show is not what you think. It is better. See more Ashley V @RT88263320 Jul 28, 2026 One of the best shows I've ever watched. Usually I am so bored with TV shows these days, but this was intriguing, fresh, and held my attention. Such a hidden gem. See more Dave N @Cymbeline Jun 1, 2026 Great acting, writing and atmosphere and overall just well put together. It could have been one of my favourite shows if not that the story was just... well, boring. By episode 2 I had figured out broadly what was going on (except for the specific reasons for her boy's odd behaviour) and I imagine most viewers will have, and yet the show still acts as if what is going on is some big mystery, painfully drip feeding you hints over FOUR more episodes before finally explaining in episode 6 what you worked out almost 5 hours earlier. Once I had got the big picture, I wanted it confirmed and then for the show to move into new territory, but as it was, I almost stopped watching multiple times and I wouldn't have been too bothered if I never saw the final episode. It just wasn't gripping. But it was very well made and original, and now we have the explanation for the big picture stuff out the way, maybe season 2 can actually get interesting, so I think I'll give it a shot. See more Paul T @Pazrock Mar 4, 2026 Very Gripping and keeps you guessing. Great acting as well. See more Read all reviews
