It takes three episodes before it really finds its groove, and then it soars. Go to Full Review

The Eddy isn't without flaws and it often feels overindulgent, but on balance, there is much to recommend it. Go to Full Review

Frustratingly, the music is a heavy condiment on dry bread slathered with malaise, with a side of uninspired crime subplot. Go to Full Review

As jazz itself, The Eddy is rhythmic chaos. Every character, like every instrument in a jazz band, brings something different to the story, family, youth, crisis, crime, immigration, and everything in between. Impressive music. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

"If you can't be good, be notorious," says Elliot Udo. The Eddy is both. This might just be 2020's best new show. Go to Full Review

Dave C 12/19/2020 Brilliant. Setting, story and acting are all excellent. The music speaks for itself. The story is good, with moments that really make it great, but the ending seems to go floppy. and doesn't deliver the decisive blow you expect it might. Brilliant, overall See more 06/10/2020 The music is absolutely fantastic, a love letter to jazz with exceptional musicians. The plot is uneven in spots but the great acting keeps it on track. See more 06/09/2020 Great music, great cast, amazing cinematography & a nice mood, yet a very inconsistent storyline from my opinion, some main events were missing from the story & towards the end things felt naive, crucial reactions from main characters wasn't there & some main characters development isn't made right, as much as I was excited for the eddy & as much as potential as it had, it was for me a bit disappointing See more christopher v 05/31/2020 Much like jazz itself, this sometimes messy ad libbed masterpiece requires a modicum of patience. Viewers are rewarded with a great acted story full of interesting characters who all play their instruments in live sequence (no overdubbing). Shot with a hand held camera with long one shot technique gives the Eddy a gritty , realistic beauty of modern day Paris. Half in French and half in English. Not to be missed. I can't wait for season 2. See more 05/25/2020 This is one of the best TV series I have ever seen. Acting was great, music was great, cinematography was great (loved those facial closeups!). Have recommended it to all my music-loving friends and relatives. Tip: hook your TV up to a HiFi sound system to really appreciate the music. See more 05/24/2020 First, if you like Jazz from the 50s/60s, you will love this. Has a good story line and some nice storytelling of relationships. A feel good series. Music is great.
