Such a highly-addictive series thanks to the phenomenal production values, terrific characters, meticulous world-building + intriguing plots with genuinely-high stakes. It's everything one wants in a sci-fi series, or any TV genre for that matter.

The Expanse is one of those shows that easily lives up to its name. Not only does the title evoke the vast and dangerous emptiness of space, but this is a show crammed full of detail and interaction.

In a lesser show, some of these developments might come off as cheesy or convoluted, but here they feel like a shot of juice straight to the veins as we eagerly followed the protomolecule and Holden's seemingly fated collision course.

That's an overwhelming amount of mostly good science fiction. But hear me out: The Expanse is better than all of these shows. Need proof? Thomas Jane is in it and he has the most hideous haircut I've ever seen.

It hit its narrative stride this year, as all the pieces from the first two seasons' many narrative threads at last came together to form a cohesive whole.

Chatham and Mitchell are both talented actors, so pairing them together in an almost mother/son dynamic was a great move by the writers. Hopefully, Season 4 will develop their relationship even further.

The end of The Expanse's third season has arrived and in a drawn fashion perfectly befitting the rather solid season that it has led up to.

The way the show lets its narrative bleed from one season to another means that there's never any downtime, and no need to ramp back up again,... right now, is on the verge of all-out interplanetary war.

Everything from the relevant political climate to the sweeping views of the stars, this series takes the genre up a notch...and then some.

The Expanse season three does offer a promising start with thrills.

Game of Thrones in space.

The series is one big spaceship explosion away from becoming the most visually and narratively compelling work of fiction I have seen all year.

The Expanse is to this decade what Battlestar Galactica was to the previous one.

It felt good to slip back into the space opera. The new season does an excellent job of continuing the character development that was expertly executed last season.

Not one frame on The Expanse passes without asking you to take note of what it's doing, and what, in the long run, it means.
April 12, 2018
The Expanse isn't perfect television, but entering Season 3 it is undeniably confident about the story it's telling, and more importantly the kind of stories it wants to tell.

The shift in motivation and purpose for all of the characters sets up the new chapter beautifully, leaving everyone anticipating a great third season for this most epic of space dramas.
