Briana I @Anaire Oct 26, 2026 This show was the best way to describe Tina Feys personality and talent. It was melodramatic, one dimensional, plain, simple or, to give it more body; vanilla at best. This show is targeted for one audience only, and that's for middle aged rich or upper class white women who are bored in their marriage or going through divorce. It was supposed to be a comedy but it lacked real originality for any sense of comedic reactions. Each episode and season was repetitive, no shock value, and the literal only twist was the death of Nick. Everything else was so predictable and a display of married couples navigating boring loveless life with stereotypical arguments and issues. It lacked depth although you can tell she wanted it to be deep and it was strictly for her audience based on her skill level. Middle...aged...white...women! I don't know how you can call this a comedy, it's more like background noise while doing something else that's actually meaningful. The second season...even WORSE!! See more Michael S @biccynana Sep 29, 2026 I had high hopes for this. I mean, Tina Fey was involved and 30 Rock was soooo good. But this, not so much. The first two episodes of series 1 were very funny and then it all went wrong and it quickly descended into hugging and learning (if you agree with the creative rule behind Seinfeld you'll hate this programme). And the characters? Boy, talk about cliches - middle aged crisis man with the much younger girlfriend; his sadsack wife who 'finds herself' after they separate; the nerd with the clinging, needy husband; the gay couple - a black guy so he has to be acerbic and snarky, right?, and his husband who's Italian so he has to be loud and emotional and given to wildly extravagant gestures. It was refreshing, wholesome, amusing. There is plenty of drama to keep story going. It feels so raw at times. And there are times I want to really dislike a character something comes a long that makes them human again. I adore the cast. There is such a good balance of everything. I do like the fact the characters are older. They aren't outdated to the point they become cringy or not relatable They have a normal understanding of the world for their age. The mid life crisis moments aren't giving "Dirty Grandpa" personally 10/10, 5 stars so far. (I have yet to watch season two, I'm on the last episode of season one.) this show pulls your heartstrings, makes you think about life, but to also enjoy where you are at.
