The Gentlemen is a fascinating product thanks to its premise and setting but it could have wrapped up its plot a lot more nicely than with a disappointing last episode that attempts to tie all loose ends and connect all the threads and characters. See more MBI M @MNZGamerX 6 days ago S1 of The Gentlemen seems to lack the slickness and hectic style of the movie and E1 is pretty dour as an opener. By E3 it becomes clear that the storyline is just god-awful but the acting performances are fairly good overall but that is not enough to retain interest. The main issue is with the characters many of whom are just moronic but who lead the narrative in multiple idiotic ways and finally the series lacks the humor of the movie. In the end S1 seems to be about toffs and gangsters without a plan and a story without a coherent narrative. Having said that things do pick up in E6 & E7 where the series takes an edgy and vengeful turn. E8 however does make a flip so as to justify a second season ...
