Essentially [The Hack is] The Guardian: The Movie, and it’s cringeworthy. Go to Full Review

This is sometimes cerebral, sometimes enraging and almost always compelling TV. Go to Full Review

...[The Hack] is eminently watchable and mostly compelling, but it suffers from a serious case of split personality that ultimately makes it a little hard to buy into. Go to Full Review

I can tell you that the stories eventually flow into each other. It is cleverly done, but I wonder how many viewers will stick around to see it. Go to Full Review

Judy F @Judy888 Jan 24 Without knowing the story the first few episodes were hard to follow. Worth persevering, a powerful story that got clearer in the second half. Murdoch such a powerful crook, such power brokers squash anyone wanting to tell the truth of their corruption. Shame only Coulsen did jail time, I thought Brooks did too. Teflon Murdochs - I wonder how these people live with themselves. They are a major reason for the loss of public trust in the media, they twist the truth and destroy less powerful people who try to expose them. I used to trust the news, I don't anymore See more DanTheMan 2 @DanTheMan2150AD Jan 12 Flip flopping between sharp satirical investigative drama and police thriller and backed by a top notch cast, The Hack manages to deliver a slick reminder that in the digital age, the scariest villains don't wear masks, they read the terms and conditions. The Harry Hill jumpscare caught me so off guard. See more David H Nov 18 The sub plot drags a bit, even if it does link up eventually, but the story of how The Guardian took on phone hacking is occasionally compulsive and always worth telling. Tennant is excellent as Nick Davies. Utterly weird how the series was panned by a review.., in The Guardian. With friends like that… See more Barrie S @Barrieboy Nov 8 Quite an interesting series with excellent acting from all the crew, but the blatant use of foul language was unnecessary, hence the downgrading to two stars. See more Greg W Oct 17 After hearing a caller on radio say this was binge-worthy we were very disappointed. A worthy story but split into two confusing & competing storylines had us scratching our heads with timelines & characters. The David Tennant character constantly "breaking the fourth wall" & speaking to camera also seemed stupid. What could have been a good show was let down by trying to be too clever or different, I'm not sure what they were aiming for. By the time it finished we breathed a sigh of relief it was over. The only thing that saved it from one star was the quality of some of the actors involved. Don't go out of your way to watch this. See more Nick G Oct 12 This had me from the first 10 minutes. I judge a series by how desperate I am to watch the next episode and I binged this over two nights . David Tennant, as usual is superb and a Kite mark of quality. It has a pretty amazing all-star cast and moves quickly. I can see why some people don’t like it with the fourth person chat to cameras but I absolutely loved it See more Read all reviews
