The Hardacres is one of the most refreshing period pieces I have had the pleasure of watching. The story line, the casting, and the setting are unsurpassed. Liam McMahon, Claire Cooper, Julie Graham, Cathy Belton, and so many upcoming actors draw us into their characters. You love these characters from the first few minutes. I highly recommend placing this on your watch list. I am desperate for Season 2. You will fall in love with this family. Julie Graham, if you read this, I adore you. We are regular viewers of any number of the BritBox crime/detective/DCI shows and enjoy those and also were big fans of Downtown Abbey. This show was more fun than Downtown, and much less stressful than, say, Unforgotten. So, it was a nice break from both. All in all a very nice way to spend a few hours in front of the ole telly. Script is a bit light on background development. But it trots along at a fine old examination of "us and them at te fish yards." Good fun binge.
