The indignities of aging also prove an unusually strong fit for these forever Kids, because their comedy has so often attuned to life’s darker, sadder absurdities. Go to Full Review

Their new material... proves that nobody has ever done what they do better. Go to Full Review

As hilarious as their childishness was as young men, it's even funnier and a tad more haunting when viewed in the form of late middle age folds and sags. Go to Full Review

The new season of The Kids in the Hall (their first since the mid-’90s) is a triumph that we don’t even really have an apt comparison for. Go to Full Review

The Kids are still making things their way — having lost none of their punk and progressive mentalities — and, as a result, their comedy is both relevant and laugh-out-loud great. Funny how that works. Go to Full Review

Unlike comedy revivals that fail to live up to their predecessors because humor is so dependent on its cultural context, this one works well at least partly because it feels trapped in the '90s. Go to Full Review

Carry F @RT54930318 09/22/2024 Been a big fan of "The Kids in the Hall" since the early 90's and this reboot is delightful and familiar with the same kind of empathy towards their characters that they showed back then. Then, their comedy were really different than what was around at that point. It was sweet even in the most taboo of topics, could easily dip into melancholia, and bring the mundane into absurdity in a fresh way. They had new sensitivies, and they were never mean. Loved you, guys! You had an impact on my generation, for sure, and I was so glad to hear of your return. Reboot is real quality, and the actors fantastic, with fun and low-key-cameos from Mark Hamill, Catherine O'Hara, Eddie Izzard. If you're not among "Friends of The Kids In The Hall" already, check it out. See more Michael Antony A @RT48850580 10/24/2023 Mikey's TV Review: The Kids in the Hall (2022) OK, who remembers TKITH? The inspirational Canadian Pythonesque sketch comedy show featuring Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney & Scott Thompson ran for 5 seasons between 1989 to 1995, a movie (Brain Candy) plus a TV special ‘Death Comes To Town'? Well, they're back after 27(!) years for an 8 episode revamp / Series 6 on Amazon Prime. A couple of returning characters and a few new ones prove they're just as quirky, irreverent and funny as their younger selves ever were. Chasing what was might have ended in disaster, so it's a huge relief that the show is filled with their absurd brand of humour intact and if anything, is even sillier and darker (and bloodier) than before. It's self-deprecating too. Kids no longer (they're all aged around 60), their obsession with death now has an air of pathos and inevitability. Highlights include Masterbation Policy, Foodie's Tart, Doomsday DJ, Shakespeare's Bust, The Patrol and The Last Gloryhole (groundbreaking gay character Buddy Cole is back for this one) - if any of these sketch titles make you shake your head, the show definitely isn't for you. But then that was always the point of TKITH - an alternative to the mainstream and especially vanilla comedy. Something we need to hold on to in this evermore PC world. The Devil permitting (long running joke), the ‘boys' will back to save the day for another series soon. Mikey's TV Rating: 4/5* For fans of: The League Of Gentlemen, French & Saunders, Mike Myers, Horrible Histories… See more Natalie T @RT02531157 11/27/2022 A bit raunchier than the original series but then again we're middle aged Gen Xers so what's a little raunch. I saw more wandering the streets of Toronto unsupervised at all hours as a teenager. Brilliant and current. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Good chance younger generations will be offended but hey (shrug), goal achieved. Looking forward to Season Two!! See more harrison r @emailaddress 09/19/2022 Still good after all these years. Wish Amazon had let them use more than 6 of their original sketch ideas, all of which looked hilarious from the titles.
