She doesn't over-play anything, she just exists in the moment, doing so little, but expressing so much.There are great artists in this world who are just, somehow, different than their fellow great artists. She's that. She has something extra to her, something that makes her the 'uniquest of the unique.' And while I understand uniquest isn't a word, at all, it IS her. She's a phenomenon. Oh, and I loved this show, completely. And yes, they do use music, often, as some reviewer below said, but I am a sucker for it and I loved it all. After I binged the first time, I realized that I missed the characters and binged it a second time. Rowoon's comedic timing was so great! This series combines really a lot of stage/theater approaches to the action, visual short-hand, and plenty of melodrama that has simply come to reside stylistically and comically in so many asian period pieces and love stories. The groveling, the hokey sword fights, the eavesdropping, the just-in-time rescues... all part of the style here, set in a landscape of gorgeous costumes and architecture. If the whole thing had been done as anime it would work the same. Something like 'Prince and the Pauper', 'Romeo and Juliet', and 'Doctor Zhivago' rolled into korean history, this story could have been told better i think in 15 episodes instead of 20. But still, i have to say I loved it as a sucker for K-dramas and all their craft. See more Read all reviews
