A compelling and comprehensive portrait of one of basketball's great teams, The Last Dance's blend of archival footage and candid interviews confirms there's nobody quite like Mike or the team he led to victory.

Tv Season Info

In the fall of 1997, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls began their quest to win a sixth NBA title in eight years. But despite all Jordan had achieved since his sensational debut 13 years earlier, "The Last Dance," as coach Phil Jackson called it, would be shadowed by tension with the club's front office and the overwhelming sense that this was the last time the world would ever see the greatest player of all time, and his extraordinary teammates, in full flight.

So I want my comrades in sports indifference to trust me when I say The Last Dance... is gripping television.

It's the present-day packaging and presentation of The Last Dance that allows us to understand why he's such a legend.

Serves as an education, a reintroduction, and a spiritual reunion for one of the great basketball teams of all time. It is as farcically self-involved as it sounds, but how else would one capture Jordan's singular, single-minded essence?

This is the Jordan show - as it should be. By the end, you won't want to be like Mike. But your awe of his superpowers will run even deeper. Something tells me Jordan will be just fine with that.

"The Last Dance" shows the best dances are done with a partner, or in this case, several.

I struggle so much with the blatant subjectivity in the miniseries because, these complaints aside, goddammit, is The Last Dance entertaining and affecting!

It is not often that one gets to see such an intimate and detailed portrait of a legendary sports team and its most representative figure, both inside and outside the basketball court. An impressive achievement for the sports documentary genre.

It not only made me understand how significant Jordan is and was, but it made me find an appreciation for the 90's and a sport I don't watch. For a sport doc to do that, I think it accomplished what it set out to do.

Content was good but I hated the way that they jumped between years arbitrarily. They should have done it chronologically.

As a person who has never followed professional basketball and is more interested in college hoops and European soccer, I found The Last Dance compelling, very well executed, and, contrary to others who have commented, a fairly honest appraisal of the positive and negative aspects of the behavior and motivations of Michael Jordan. The last series that was as compelling was Chernobyl.

I cannot get enough of this! I watched the Scottie Pippen episode-- so insightful and so interesting to see the backstory. Even I you aren't a basketball fan, this is a must-see.

Great documentary, made me really see how good Michael really was. And shed so much light on details of the last dance.

Incredible insight into the mindset of a true GOAT MJ! Factual and entertaining!

There's no way I was giving this less than a 5/5 as a basketball junkie from Illinois. Was it perfect? Probably not. But it doesn't matter. It was the best documentary I've seen, a perfect blend of informational and entertaining. Jordan's larger than life charismatic personality made him a global icon, which was really highlighted here. It's such a universally interesting topic, and it's so intriguing to watch Jordan's legacy intricately sewn together at a time when live sports are vacant. The documentary is willing to cover the Bulls and MJ with a respectable, cooperative, and relatively unbiased approach. The production, editing, and sound mixing are all sincerely flawless. Each episode is built so craftily in a way that turns the series into a real masterpiece in the presentation category. You couldn't have written a better story; fortunately this is a story that wrote itself, and it is one that will be remembered for as long as the sport lives on.

MJ was easily the best player of all time, especially if Magic, Bird, all the best players of all time agree. All of the millenials however will say LeBron is the best player of all time which is understandable. But let's face it, they dont know anything about how hard they played back in the day. If LeBron and Harden and CP3 had to play with the rules of the 80's and 90's they'd be crying so much more than they already do they'd quit. The Last Dance proved just how hard it was to play back then and showed why MJ is the one and only GOAT. However as for the series, I didn't care for the back and forth timelines, it was totally unnecessary and confusing at times.

This is unbelievable the access the camera crew who got to film this team in their final season and Michael Jordan at the peak of the career one of the best docu-series in recent memory
