From executive producers Viola Davis and Julius Tennon, this documentary series explores and exposes flaws in the American justice system through emotional, in-depth examinations of the death row cases of Darlie Routier and Julius Jones, both of whom insist on their innocence to this day. Darlie Routier was sentenced to death in 1997 for the brutal stabbing murder of her two young sons. In 2001, when he was a 21-year-old college student, Julius Jones was sentenced to death for the carjacking murder of a father of two. Looking at the personal stories of the two people, the series traces the paths that led both of them to their places on death row.

Exhaustive, but also inconclusive -- at least over the first four hours. Go to Full Review

Whether or not you find its arguments in these specific cases exonerating, it makes a disturbing argument about the potential for error in capital cases. Go to Full Review

Skip it. There are more compelling docuseries on streaming and cable right now, and you can likely get up to speed about the Routier and Jones cases by looking at their Wikipedia pages. Go to Full Review

07/24/2019 Not a good true crime program. I watched the first 4 episodes and didn't learn anything about the Routier case that I didn't already know and they forgot to tell their audience about some pertinent facts about the forensic evidence that proved Routier's guilt and instead focused on the sensationalism of the case that means nothing See more Read all reviews
