Critic Consensus: "Solace for Tired Feet" features more of the fine acting that The Leftovers is known for -- as well as a welcome, and atypical, influx of forward plot movement.

Critic reviews for Solace for Tired Feet
What we know, what we don't and what we think might happen after an optimistic seventh episode of "The Leftovers."
The focus was tight enough on Kevin and the search for his father to work, and it featured excellent performances from both Justin Theroux and, especially, Scott Glenn.
"Solace for Tired Feet" gelled the series together like never before. The Leftovers has been great on its own as a dizzying portrait of broken people, but now it's deftly teasing us with a "higher purpose" for those splintered folks.
I still don't understand about 90 percent of it - 95, even? - but I can't resist going along for the ride.
"Solace for Tired Feet" gave multiple storylines a sudden push for that "we've just crested the hill and begun the free fall" feeling familiar to fans of tightly plotted ensemble dramas.
