The Lowdown is a terrific writerly show and Harjo cleverly manoeuvres the problems of guilt and complicity in such a way that he might have gained a round of applause from the late Elmore Leonard, who knew a thing or two about making crime entertaining.

Ethan Hawke continues to impress me with his ability to be natural in a role, and I’m glad he teamed up with Sterlin Harjo, this series reads like Ethan reprised the stubborn altruism of his John Brown character and took up a new fight. Deft directing sees Sterlin managing the mystery, suspense and social commentary with the right amount of humor and visual style! "Fck’n white men that care, saddest of the bunch."

Ethan Hawke is amazing in this crazy story. Actually, all the acting is phenomenal. Great script and directing as well. I ❤️ it ⏲️ 💯. 😄

Too goofy for me. Ethan Hawke is somewhere between Hunter S Thompson and the 3 Stooges (all three). The Coen Brothers and Tarantino can pull off this sort of dark comedy but they weren't involved in this.

It was great. It took an episode or 2 for me to get into the tone of it, but I really enjoyed it overall (the finale in particular, loved it). The whole cast are wonderful in their roles, but Hawke's performance is particularly fantastic and I really enjoyed Tim Blake Nelson + Peter Dinklage here too (bonus points for having Killer Mike in the mix as well). Funny and compelling stuff - it has a Fargo feel to it, but with more heart.
