The Lowdown is a terrific writerly show and Harjo cleverly manoeuvres the problems of guilt and complicity in such a way that he might have gained a round of applause from the late Elmore Leonard, who knew a thing or two about making crime entertaining.

It was great. It took an episode or 2 for me to get into the tone of it, but I really enjoyed it overall (the finale in particular, loved it). The whole cast are wonderful in their roles, but Hawke's performance is particularly fantastic and I really enjoyed Tim Blake Nelson + Peter Dinklage here too (bonus points for having Killer Mike in the mix as well). Funny and compelling stuff - it has a Fargo feel to it, but with more heart.

For me the best show so far this year! Supreme acting, especially from Ethan Hawke. Funny, creative, exiting. Great storytelling and production.

The agenda driven and unoriginal plot takes away from solid acting and directing. The main character - Lee Raybon - sacrifices everything, (including his family and personal hygiene), for the big story. But his age doesn't quite jive with his "angry young man out to save the world" persona. As the rating says - not bad, but not my favorite.
