Bryce Dallas Howard returns behind the camera to deliver an action-packed installment that has enough Easter eggs to keep diehards happy, while setting up plenty of exciting things to come.
If future episodes can build on the strong points of "The Heiress," "The Mandalorian" could become a standout action-drama regardless of its "Star Wars" license.
The emotions are particularly hollow here and the action scenes are fairly rote, with both elements being overshadowed by the bits of story that will be remembered far more during later episodes.
This is the second episode directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, who previously helmed the Seven Samurai-inspired first-season episode, "Sanctuary." It's another good one, if not quite as emotionally wrenching as Howard's last outing.
That the series is taking this idea seriously in its plot and character development demonstrates how much smarter it is than most shows at the PG level.
It did its part to build the overall plot, and that's what I like in a show, and that's what this episode delivered.
Chapter 11 had everything, offering up great character development, interactions, and adventures.
This is the episode that, if you're familiar with the larger Star Wars universe, is a must-watch episode.
It mixes emotional moments with plenty of action, and references that only the most staunch fans of the franchise will understand. [Full review in Spanish]
'The Heiress' was a very well done episode with great direction from Howard and a nice balance of character moments and action.
"The Heiress" demonstrates the show's keen ability to simultaneously satisfy casual fans and Star Wars diehards.
A great episode on all levels as The Mandalorian continues to weave its title character into the main fabric of the Star Wars saga.
This was a great episode, and my favorite of the season so far.
