The Mindy Project is poised for its most meaningful season ever.

You might not want to necessarily be Mindy, but the show has made sure we at the very least appreciate her, that underneath her brashness and narcissism is confidence and intelligence and warmth.

While clearly not perfect, an ending very much fit for a rom-com.

The Mindy Project pulled it off in the end: a happy, satisfying, romantic, and somehow believable ending for our heroine.

We already knew going into this season that The Mindy Project would tackle divorce, but even with that knowledge, there's a certain level of suspense to the story.

It was a full ensemble dance and it was the perfect series finale production.

Dec 7, 2017 | Full Review…

It's the ultimate love letter to rom-coms, a genre Kaling has a clear affection for, making her snarky-yet-still-hopeful take on all the standard conventions of the genre even more clever...

The Mindy Project was messy, but when it worked, boy was it fun.

The ambivalent look Mindy shot out the train window just after getting hitched in the season finale is in full effect.

The actual content of 'Is That All There Is,' the finale season 6 premiere, further proves Dr. Mindy will not get a fairytale ending as a happily wedded woman and mother - and I couldn't be happier about it.

Audience Reviews for The Mindy Project: Season 6

Oh boy...I'm going to miss this show so much!!! Mindy, Morgan, Tamra, Jeremy, Colette and the rest of the cast had us dying the whole time!!! The jokes are happening so fast and all the time! This last season had us crying and laughing and it was great. I loved having Danny back, but even when he's not there, the show carries on without any problems whatsoever! Thank you, Mindy Kaling for this masterpiece!

So lazy in this last season. Why would they have her get married and then immediately divorced again? It's like there was no grand plan in this season - they were just winging it episode by episode. She seems less fun now and is just sad and pathetic. And I really hate the plastic surgery that she got done recently. It wasn't necessary and it was poorly done - her lips are uneven. This show used to be great.

I wish I'd not bothered to watch the final season. The show was so strong in the positive messages it set fourth about not getting wrapped up in the idea of romance so deep that you give up the things that are important to you as an individual person to make it work with someone. It was funny, it was clever, and it promised us a female lead that would start weak/ lost and end on a passionate note about breaking away from traditional roles. I'd have kept all my positive thoughts on this show had I just not watched the last season. Season 6 demolishes everything it spent years setting up. Possibly the worst TV show ending I've ever seen.

I'm not going to sit and say that this is the best season Mindy has done, but so far it's been pretty well done. Sure it is slightly predictable, but at the same time Mindy has always made her intentions for these characters clear and so she has found a way to get them there. What is really making the show this year is the characters outside of Mindy herself. Morgan Tamra, Jeremy (and Anna), heck even Colette have had storylines that are interesting (again predictable) and very well acted. Since season 4 Mindy has been more on the serious side, but this season is definitely bringing the funny back. We only have a few episodes left before goodbye :( but I look forward to each and everyone, and seeing how this story wraps up.

Jumping the shark so far this season. The title character's self-absorption is no longer quirky and charming. It's sad. Her recent marriage isn't working out - no surprise. And it's all so shallow. No depth or intensity to her feelings or their connection. So unlike the first few seasons. And her lack of maternal feeling - very dark, and not in a funny way. It's as if the actress is no longer present in the character as she was in the first few seasons, and is just repeating the same old shtick. The characters have ceased to evolve. I couldn't wait for the new season and now I'm very disappointed.
