      Critics Consensus

The Outlaws is a touch too broad to mine much nuance from its concept, but its aggressive affability and merry band of miscreants make for a solid caper. Read critic reviews

Waiting for season 2, one isn't enough. A breath of fresh air, not bad.

      • Jul 17, 2023

It's good fun. Stephen Merchant and Christopher Walken, themselves, would be worth it - but the whole cast pulls their weight.

      • Jul 11, 2023

Dreadful. It's one of those "light entertainment" pieces that BBC TV still makes unfortunately. It's not funny enough nor not serious enough. So, what is it, a drama? A comedy? A comedy drama, which is a genre where without cutting humour, comes across as "pleasant" and something that would only appeal to those wanting no stimulation of any kind.

      • Jun 18, 2023

The casting is great, the story is complex but believable, the pace moves along nicely and the humour is fabulous. Love the characters and the acting quality is excellent. Christopher Walken...what a pro, what a superstar. One character I found to be too obviously written (or portrayed) is Diane [Jessica Gunning], the community services officer. A lovely, easy drinking option for everyday consumption.

A fantastic series with a nice blend of comedy, action and thrills.

      • Dec 05, 2022

Funny, had a bit of action, and all the characters have strong personalities. I really enjoyed this show!

      • Nov 28, 2022

I was so pleasantly surprised when I started watching this. It was funny/sophisticated and the characters actually had enough time to be developed throughout the series. It seems as if there could possibly be another round as some loose ends were left and I would definitely watch a third season.

It was delightful light and very funny!! Loved watching the characters evolve over the season!! Greg was my favourite- poor Greg always Greg

One of the best shows I've seen in some time. It's like the UK Office in terms of combining real, flawed characters that you care about with tremendous comedy. It's less over-the-top but just as funny. But it's also great as a serious crime show.

      • Oct 22, 2022

I really love this show and its characters. How to come together in their own odd way to help each other. This show is funny, dramatic and it's very interesting to see the characters grow as the show progresses. I like British sense of comedy and their movies/shows tend to be closer to reality as people are more real. I totally recommend.
