The Resort: Season 1 (2022)

Season 1
The Resort

Critics Consensus

The Resort teases more mysteries than it can satisfyingly pay off, but its likable cast and jaunty tone make for a compulsively watchable vacation.

Pathetic. One of the worst shows I've seen in a long time. Don't waste your time like I did on this. Script C-, Dialogue C-, Acting D-

This is one of the best shows of 2022. It's funny, edgy, dramatic, and suspenseful. It's a must watch. The female lead is truly on point. She was amazing in ‘Palm Springs' and has exceeded my expectations for this show.

This is SOOO good, I literally screamed aloud and clapped because the end of the episode was SOOOO shocking, can't wait for next weeks episode!!!

Really enjoying the show through 4 episodes!

Wonderful show. It's funny, weird, and engaging.

I really like the actors in this but I couldn't make it through the first episode. Like so many shows, if you turn the volume all the way down and just look a the images, we either see women, children and black and brown people being murdered or abused in some heinous way OR as in this dark "comedy" , when we do see a mixed race couple they make the black character one dimensional and disingenuious. And ironically they look really good together and are a very believable couple but between the limited and lame dialogue and the flat and one dimensional way he is written, I could not get through the whole first episode. The idea that we still cannot show an interracial couple kissing on screen is sad and very suspect.

Brilliant. Fantastic cast all around. There's not one weak link. The writing and direction is so good. The shots make it feel like I'm watching a movie. But a half hour movie. So perfect for my hectic schedule. I cannot wait to see where it goes.

Meh. I wanted to like this show bc I like the travel/mystery concept but it's not very well done. It seems disjointed, some scenes linger way longer than they should. The characters aren't especially likable. Also seems predictable. After 2 episodes in I am giving this a hard pass.

The cast is talented but the writing is all over the place. THE RESORT somehow manages to be boring as it goes along and ultimately has nothing really to say. Rips off WHITE LOTUS, which is way better imo.

Really wanted to like this show because I like Cristin and some of the cast but THE RESORT gets worse and worse as it goes along. This is 'complicated'-but-empty storytelling and irritating, unnatural dialogue that rips off other famous shows. Save your time and watch the upcoming WHITE LOTUS season 2.
