It’s not always subtle, but there’s a Shelley-ish, ethical angle that persists. Go to Full Review

It combines the emotional weight of a war drama with the intrigue of science fiction while keeping both elements in balance for most of its run. Go to Full Review

There’s something a little bit steampunky to this … it’s interesting to see the French making the superhero genre part of their own history. Not really the action-packed show I was expecting; it’s more of a slow-burn mystery … [and] I’m kind of gripped. Go to Full Review

Katy M @RT56790411 Jul 20, 2026 This is absolutely brilliant if you’re into war dramas, thrillers and superheroes. The characters are well developed, both protagonists and antagonists; there’s three main storylines which are all equally compelling; and the action set pieces are entertaining bringing all the gritty brutality of fighting on the Western Front combined with the dirty combat. All in all, something different to the usual. See more Janko B @JankoB Jan 17, 2026 I wasn’t familiar with the comic this is based on, so I went into the show with no real expectations. The premise sounds promising: France and Germany are locked in a crucial phase of World War I, and the French have developed a program to create super soldiers with the help of a serum, kind of like Captain America. It’s much less flashy and colorful than Marvel, and instead feels gritty and dusty, which really helps you "taste" the era. The somewhat lesser-known lead actor, Louis Peres, does a solid job and also looks the part. The rest of the cast is a likeable mix as well. The camerawork is a bit rudimentary at times, but a lot of effort clearly went into the sets, costumes, and backgrounds, making this alternate World War I setting feel authentic enough to me. Overall, the first season won me over, even though I would’ve liked to see more presence from the "super villain." A second season has already been announced, so I’m curious to see where they take the story next. See more Read all reviews
