I know enough about the United States Navy to know many of this battle scenes are completely implausible. The idea that a potentially nuclear armed submarine could get within the picket line of a carrier group is nuts. Especially after the president and the commander of the seventh fleet or the sinking of the submarine. To depict Japan as the right thinking means justifying the end is unnecessary during this time of great global strife. What a farce! Moreover, I speak Japanese and have spent time in the country. All that said, this was a massive disappointment. Some of the footage of ships, submarines, and aircraft is cool, but that is where the positives stop. The plot is bizarre. The dialogue is horrible. The actors do not speak like military professionals (and I've been one). Many of the important military "facts" are incorrect -- the warhead on a nuclear armed cruise missile will not detonate if the sub carrying it is sunk. I cringed all the way through episodes 1 and 2 and then surrendered (though I will confess that I might still watch the rest just because of the theme). Anyways, big disappointment.....
