Tv Season Info

Series 17 contains a whopping three episodes that feature the Simpsons in a trilogy of fantastic tales. There's "Treehouse of Horror XVI," the annual Halloween spooktacular; "Simpsons Christmas Stories," which presents holiday narratives based on "The Nutcracker," the Nativity and Santa Claus; and "The Wettest Stories Ever Told," a collection of nautical-themed adventures inspired by the family's trip to a seafood restaurant. Elsewhere, Homer runs for mayor, Maggie gets the chicken pox, Lisa must give Groundskeeper Willie a makeover and Springfield Elementary is segregated by gender.

Over the last year or so, it's actually gotten pretty good again. Not necessarily the pinnacle of perfection it once was, but it tends to provide at least a few laughs an episode, which is good enough for me.

Audience Reviews for The Simpsons: Season 17

  • Nov 26, 2016
By season 17, you could make a fair point that Al Jean was playing it too safe, while season 17 is generally entertaining, it lacks the hearty laughter and memorability to make a must-watch season of The Simpsons.

Funny at times but sometimes it isn't funny at all, show has been going on too long now i think, overall it is isn't too bad
  • Jan 05, 2014
A detestable season. Al Jean's showrunning has run absolutely dry, and either someone should take the helm or it should just END.
