Tv Season Info

Series 24 kicks off with a star-studded premiere that brings back Sarah Michelle Gellar, Anne Hathaway, Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman and Sarah Silverman as the past girlfriends of Bart, who wants to know why his relationships never work out. (Deschanel even returns for a third appearance as his love interest later this series, a rarity for a show that typically prides itself on its lack of continuity.) Elsewhere, the creative staff riff on current events and trends: Homer gets a tablet computer and joins a survivalist group who are preparing for the collapse of society, while Springfield is invaded by hipsters.

Critic Reviews for The Simpsons Season 24

All Critics (6) | Top Critics (1)

The Simpsons has always had some sick humor, but I don't remember it being this consistently cruel and, worse, generic.

Sep 30, 2012 | Rating: C- | Full Review…

Let's just hope that The Simpsons, going forward, picks back up at least a little, and that this isn't an indicator of the overall quality of the 24th season.

Nov 13, 2017 | Full Review…

Remember when Anne Hathaway played Jenny in season 20's "The Good, the Sad and the Drugly," or Sarah Silverman as Nikki in season 21's "Stealing First Base"? Me neither...

Oct 25, 2017 | Full Review…

Compared to the "meh" premiere of South Park, it's certainly better than most of what's on TV.

Oct 3, 2012 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

Maybe there's a second wind for this show yet. Or should that be third, fourth, or fifth wind?

Sep 30, 2012 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…

There's nothing very original about the premiere.

Holy crap that was a bad season. Treehouse of Horror was alright.
  • Oct 19, 2018
The Simpsons have their first real ‘dud’ of a season. Lackluster writing and occasionally repetitive material aren’t helping.
  • Jun 16, 2014
"The Simpons" stay in their crazy journey abroad the American world, funnier than ever.
  • Apr 12, 2014
The Simpsons continues to be one of the greatest cartoon comedies of all time, with funny and smart jokes, and good heart.
  • Mar 25, 2014
Not as bad as 23, but still bad by Simpsons standards
  • Jan 30, 2014
Funny at times but sometimes it isn't funny at all, show has been going on too long now i think, overall it is isn't too bad
  • Nov 30, 2013
Not as bad as Seasons 11 and 13, but should do a whole lot better in episode writing and humour.
