Starring Pierce Brosnan as charismatic Texas rancher Eli McCullough, "The Son" is a sweeping family saga based on Philipp Meyer's same-title best-seller. Hourlong episodes trace the McCullough heritage across 150 years and three generations, focusing on Eli's transformation from hard-working family man to paranoid, calculating killer. He's desperate to ensure his legacy by building a ranching-and-oil dynasty of unsurpassed wealth, a plan that ultimately pits him against his well-off Spanish neighbor, Pedro Garcia. A series of flashbacks brings viewers into the world of a young Eli and his father figure, Comanche war chief Toshaway, and explores the McCullough's ascension to become a powerful family dynasty in Texas.

The nEli' character doesn't parse. Morally upright Commanche slave into ruthless, murderous, sociopath. Every rule broken for the sake of tv drama. Garbage. Beautifully filmed garbage

I absolutely loved this show. After a bit of a slow start and it really picked up into an epic period piece. Set in a very interesting time and place that's not often shown on screen - South Texas in the early 20th century. Loved how the politics between the Comanche, Hispanics and Americans were told. Thought Pierce Brosnan was excellent - he's aged well!

Excellent series. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Old school Western tale, family history and American history. Doesn't pull any punches. We are all wild savages when it's all said and done, some worse than others for sure, but still all savages. That's the moral of the story.
