While other mystery box shows about kids on an island try to carve their own path, The Stranded is best summed up as 'Degrassi on the Island from Lost.'

The Stranded doesn't go too in depth with its characters, but its pacing and ability to build tension makes it worth watching.

Though a bit uneven and too rushed as they tried to condense too much material into only 7 episodes, I did get caught up in the story and thought it worth watching. The mix between teen drama, suspense and the fantasy elements mostly worked. The plot was not too predictable, the cinematography was gorgeous, character development (often using flashbacks) was adequate without getting in the way of the suspense, and much of the acting was better than on most teen shows. It's also a plus that though a few of the actors were clearly well into their 20's (as can almost be expected on these kinds of shows), several others are about the age of the characters they are portraying. Even the fact that most of the characters were obnoxious or completely useless spoiled rich kids was tolerable because they also gave us a handful of sympathetic characters we could root for, without trying to disguise their various faults. Kraam and the four main girls (May, Arisa, Ying, and Nahm) each had their own interesting quirks and were generally likable. I also liked the way they sometimes worked against stereotypes by, for instance, having a very feminine girl turn out to be sexually fluid, while the most tomboyish of the girls is seemingly not. Or having the bitter cynical outcast loner turn out to be among the most productive and determined to save the group. As is often the case with Netflix shows, the dubbing was not good. But I ended up watching it in Thai (which I don't speak) with English subtitles and it was easy to follow. This show does need a second season to tie up all the loose ends. You are left feeling that there is the potential for a really good story, but it needs a conclusion.

First time i see a tv show from thailand and i'm very impressed. Except some « light parts in the scenario », the filming and acting is very good.

Unique, defiantly a slow build but keep with it. Great curveball with great actors! Season two is needed!

Well, you only got 1 chance for "the first" Netflix Original from Thailand. And they squandered it, horrifyingly.

it's very thriller. a lot of mystery and present a good character
