Sixteen strangers embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the treacherous New Zealand Alps in an attempt to reach the peak of a distant, towering mountain. With their backpacks containing an equal share of $1 million, the group must traverse an exhausting distance in just 14 days in order to win the cash they are carrying. But not everyone will make it, as these strangers must work together to tackle the dangerous terrain, unforgiving Antarctic winds, heart-pounding challenges and gut-wrenching eliminations on their way to the peak. Tracking them along this journey is the "Mountain's Keeper" who will surprise the trekkers with brutal twists and force decisions that complicate an already grueling ascent. Morals and relationships are tested when they must decide what to do if someone falls behind, because if the group fails to reach the summit in time, all the prize money is lost.

"Summit" ends up being a cheap "Survivor" knockoff on a mountain, too physically difficult for most of its contestants and full of nonsensical twists and rules that make it hard to understand, let alone get sucked into. Go to Full Review

The Summit becomes Survivor on a slope, minus the compelling drama or a memorable cast to keep things interesting. Go to Full Review

The entertaining series features all the adventure and scheming one comes to expect from an unscripted extreme adventure competition. Go to Full Review

While the contestants on The Summit basically cover every reality competition archetype out there, the vistas are stunning and the terrain is harrowing enough to keep our attention. Go to Full Review

Over the past 24 years, Survivor’s elements have been remixed repeatedly, and The Summit finds a captivating and fresh blend of them, balancing physicality and personality, challenges and camaraderie, and strategy and subterfuge, all in a new environment. Go to Full Review

Nicholas L @RT43977185 12/15/2024 Awful. Cruel. Boring. Producer bullshit. Some words I'd describe this show. The first few episodes start out okay; mildly entertaining. However the show quickly becomes pretty unbearable. First off, it's pretty fucked up to have to have a bunch of contestants at wildly different physical strength competing to climb a mountain. Having an elimination at every check point brings no sense of teamwork to the show. Secondly, I've never seen so many mind games on a show. It's downright cruel to the point of torture. Constant surprise eliminations. Not only are these people brought to the brink physically, but mentally. Survivor is not nearly as cruel as this show. It's also incredibly boring. The show is the same every episodes, a bunch of people climbing a mountain. Challenges are almost the same every episode. It's also the same drama every episodes. The older ones are always worried about being in the back of the pack. The same people are crying about heights. It's extremely repetitive. The cast itself is also some of the most wishwashy people I've ever seen on a show. It was hard to root for anyone because their loyalty would constantly flip-flop on a dime. It really felt like their votes were influenced by the producers. And then the finale, jeez. Having a survivor like round table was way too dramatic. And then they vote for one of the biggest assholes to win additional money. What an awful conclusion to the show; the bad guy wins. Overall, if I had a chance to unwatch the show, I would. It was literally that bad. It's a show that tries to do everything, and does almost nothing right. It's downright cruel, which is not fun to watch. It sends the wrong messages. It also feels incredibly produced and lacks any creativity; it feels like paramount is trying to create survivor on a mountain. And fails miserably. Do not watch this show, it really is a waste of your time. See more Sammer A @sammer864 12/08/2024 a survivor rip off, with meaningless drama manufactured by the producers/show... nonsensical scheming for no obvious reason. i say get those people on the real survivor, it might be actually good. See more Hank W @RT03042381 12/05/2024 I have watched it and don't think much of it. It seems staged and I would not be surprized if the characters were actors. See more HY L @RT56665605 12/05/2024 Terrible show. If you could genuinely cheat around at your companions, you could still be voted as the champion! What did this show really tried to teach us? NO IDEA, but maybe paramount plus just wanted the world to know that DECEITFUL PERSON meant no problem as Americans, and the paramount plus meant RICH! See more holly g @RT01055123 12/03/2024 It's all a lie. They were never going to grant $1 mil. In the beginning of the show they said if people quit they lost that money but if they were voted off the group got to share that person's money. Twice there has been a twist where someone has been kicked off and the group didn't get to split the money amongst themselves. See more Robert D @wd0dcmu 11/30/2024 These have to be the dumbest contestants, how on earth were they chosen? They rival the slasher movie cast who say "I know, let's split up and hide behind the chain saws". Their reasoning goes something like this, "you are in shape, and have great skills, and I am going to vote you off, and rely on out-of-shape, fear of heights, fear of tight places, virtually no upper body strength, old, weak, lame, and overweight fellow contestants to get us all to the top of this mountain" See more Read all reviews
