I watched this series with a full understanding of how Knox and Sollecito have continued to be tainted with the suspicion of involvement in Meredith's murder, even after acquittal, which only served to increase the emotional stakes. I felt deep empathy for the real people behind the characters in this movie. It is based on Knox's books, and I could tell that the source material came from the heart. Even the prosecutor, Magnini, is portrayed sympathetically, not as a caricature. And the ending is poignant in remembering Meredith who is so often forgotten in any discussion of this case. I don't understand the allegations of "bias", this a re-telling of Knox's own story and personal experiences and this fact is made clear. I also appreciate the fact that it is filmed in Italian and the producers chose not to dumb it down by filming in English. Ignore the negative reviews and watch this. The Italian justice system comes off very poorly. Hopefully they have learned from their tragic mistakes. The acting is excellent. The production values are high. The fact that she is a producer and a writer is very clear from the start. Van Patten is a spectacle to watch, even Magnini and Rafa are there to make this one of my top 10 series. You could live the sensation and relive what Knox actually lived through.. I heard about Amanda Knox but I never got into the whole thing, I didn’t even knew what was that all about. I knew that it’s a true crime story but now I finally watched this show and I’m aware of what actually went down. Of course no one knows what happened that night, I was not there but you can’t accuse someone with no concrete evidence. It’s a crazy story of a serious crime, wrongful conviction, ego driven prosecutors, law system collapse and violent press. The show is great, well written and executed. Definitely worth your time.
