The Voice: Season 5 Reviews

  • Nov 21, 2014

The Voice is popular due to the infamous chair turning auditions. As would be contestants audition, the judges cannot see the contestant as they sing. As they hear just their voice, they click a bottom and battle for the right to coach the “voice” to ultimate victory. The individuals will land on the judge’s team of their choice, of the chair that turn around, and go through a series of 1:1 battles and finally weekly sing-offs while America votes for their favorites. Each round they receive more coaching from their professional coaches/judge. The coaches this season were very good and included Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Christina Aguilera. Christina often showed off her skill sets during the process but Adam Levine’s team was fairly stacked. The addition of steals during the knockout rounds was also well placed. This show actually has the highest standard of singers that are generally far superior to American Idol and X-Factor. Overall, this was a fascinating season with a great winner and overall fairly good cast. I do strongly recommend this show. Grade: B
