Edward H Oct 26 As a long-time Walking Dead fan, I was surprisingly into Dead City. The Manhattan setting gives the series a gritty, claustrophobic vibe and the Maggie/Negan dynamic keeps the tension high. Some of the plot feels like retread, but there are enough creative set-pieces and gnarly walkers to make it worth the trip. It's a fun, bloody detour that reminded me why I fell in love with this franchise in the first place. Whilst there is some retreading, there are some new ideas and decent twists here and there, Maggie and Negan are just so compelling to watch regardless of the plot around them and whilst we didn't need to continue their story, this makes me glad they did.
