B P @Bradster69 5 days ago Not Bad, but Not My Favorite See more Darcy F @RT75309125 Aug 29, 2026 I was loving The Watcher until the ending, which honestly dropped it from a 5-star show to nealy a 2-star one for me. I don’t mind ambiguous endings, but they still need to feel earned. For 7 episodes, the show presents itself like a mystery and invites us to play detective with suspects, tunnels, creepy neighbours, threatening letters and endless red herrings. By the end, most of those threads felt less like clues and more like junk-food suspense designed to keep you watching. Theodora’s confession could have been the perfect faux-ending: let it feel like the payoff, then reveal in the final minutes that she lied and leave us with one last unsettling twist. Instead, the show keeps going, introduces Karen being terrorised, re-energises the mystery, and then still gives us no closure. I was ready for a whole second season with Karen! The show wasn't serious enough like a documentary to earn it's fake-out ending. A really fun watch, but I wanted more secret tunnels! The plot falls apart the twists and turns are just silly, and the whole thing just isn’t compelling at all.The ending was unsatisfying, but at that point I just didn’t care who did what. See more A E @RT23562371 Jul 11, 2026 The watcher is rather compelling at first but holes are quickly poked in the story the show presents as it often happens in Netflix productions they start great then get dumber and dumber. You are introduced to a rather nice family with some hinted at minor intrigue but nothing major. By the 6th episode characters have flip-flopped a few times and major events in their lives are unaddressed or are "addressed" in a way no real person or family will react. Also, instead of utilizing both children in the show and story to fullest they focus a lot more on the daughter with a very expected and tiresome story line that is also kind of swept under the rug. the son doesn't seem exist for the most part. The conclusion of the series is not satisfying in the least the last episode like much of the second part of the first season focuses on the uninteresting and the sequence of events at the end is just lazy and destroys any mystery or suspense that was left.
