A E @RT87311158 5 days ago Look, it’s Hallmark so set expectations accordingly. I love time travel shows and movies so I stuck with this one. This one is sappy and soap opera -ish and often you have to check your brain at the door. But it keeps you interested most of the time. I like to get away from Woke shows so I was disappointed that we had a "they/them" character become a main character. Kowtowing to the woke alphabet gods is so annoying. But it’s entertaining enough thanks to the fun era changes (too bad the dialog doesn’t match each era all that well). I think most of the cast is pretty good. And while I love the movie Groundhog Day, I never realized Andie McDowell really is a very one dimensional actor. This passes the time for me when doing other things, like cooking, but you can’t ask too many questions. Lots of things are laughably silly but…again, it’s Hallmark. The time-travel mystery pulls you in, but it’s the characters, family relationships, and heart of the story that really make you want to keep watching. I love the mix of mystery, romance, humor, and family drama, and there are plenty of twists that keep you guessing. The characters are so easy to become invested in, and I especially love that the show has an emotional warmth to it even when the story gets complicated. It’s charming, heartfelt, addictive, and just a really enjoyable show. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to see where the story goes next! See more Mitch B @RT97992836 Oct 7, 2026 The Way Home is an interesting program, but we’ve learned that we can only watch a maximum of two episodes at a time before we start to feel like our brains are going to go dead. The show has a tremendous amount of potential, but the script can be pretty silly at times. You can almost guarantee that someone will get hurt or offended during what starts out as a perfectly normal conversation, followed by someone storming out. The word "fine" is definitely overused, and "Sorry, I’ve got to go" has become almost comical in its predictability. What I find particularly interesting is that they rarely spend much time discussing the power of the pond or the incredible possibilities and implications of time travel. I suppose if they focused too much on that, the show might start feeling more like science fiction than Hallmark. My wife and I laugh at some of the ridiculousness, but there are also some genuinely good aspects to the show. A simple adult conversation would have short circuited 4 seasons of different characters saying to each other "that’s private"…the ridiculous secretivemess drives the uncovering of not-very-dramatic grand reveals.
