Talis E @RT21264503 Jul 4 Season 1 had problems from the very beginning, but at least it still felt like it was trying to tell Robert Jordan’s story. Unfortunately, almost every major change weakened the source material instead of improving it. Perrin’s invented wife, Rand and Egwene’s relationship, the rushed pacing, the altered ending at Tarwin’s Gap, and the diminished roles of key characters all signaled that this would be a loose reinterpretation rather than a faithful adaptation. The Two Rivers never felt like the isolated, close-knit community from the books, and much of the mystery surrounding Aes Sedai and the wider world was lost. However I was thoroughly disappointed by the decisions made by the writers to completely destroy the whole world and turn it into some sort of political statement. The books had beautiful Dynamics between male and female and incredible World building and cultures. But for some reason the writers chose to completely destroy that. There were no distinct cultures they were all just big Multicultural messes which took away so much of the beauty that were in the books. And instead of Leaning into the amazing gender Dynamics they chose to ignore it and it really took away from the actual Dragon being reborn story and the strengths and weaknesses of the Ai Sedai and Warders and Flame and dragons tooth. They probably just scrolled through few online summaries and called it a day. They're breaking the lore and ruining the story. The longer it keeps going, the further it strays from the book. That by itself wouldn't be that horrible. Problem is, that EVERY time they change something, it's illogical and incoherent. There's several glaring plot holes each episode. (The book has none.) The way they butchered MOST of the characters is actually impresive. A person literally called "The Wisdom" is one of the dumbest characters in all of fantasy. And the Aes Sedai actresses are way too old. In the books, they are constantly described as looking very young (early to mid 20s MAX.) Most of them seem 40+yo. Why are you PRETENDING to be making an adaptation?? Just make up your own title for a show. You're slapping Jordan's name on a completely unrelated piece of media.
