Viktoria M @vikmartel 1d I know its very trendy to hate on this show but I actually think this season is really good. previous seasons were great insult to books and characters and I didn't like them at all but you can tell they took lot of the criticism in account and tried better this season. Loss of Cavill and recast sucks and unfortunely Liam is not such a good actor so he's a week link, but beyond that it's miles better than season 2 and 3 was and much more faithful to spirit of the books and The Witcher. Everyone else put in amazing performances. You can also tell lot of people complaining haven't read the books and don't see that change for the better. I am actually enjoying this one! if they did the show like this from the start this whole show would do much better sadly it only came in season 4. A show that manages to do too much with the plot and simultaneously too little of substance. I did not care about the characters. I did not find any of them to be moving or convincing. Unfortunately Hollywood is loaded with these morons See more Jason D @RT34221795 Jun 26 The deviation from how magic is handled in the books (and the first season) and the massive inflation of Yenn's power in this season completely diminishes the power and stakes of the villain. The villain no longer terrifies us, they are cast out like they're just another rogue mage. Yennefer is throwing around insane spells without paying any price for her Chaos magic. It makes no sense after 3 seasons of constantly telling us chaos has a cost. Anya's great acting is the only thing keeping me engaged in this character at this point. As for Geralt, grunting or saying "hmm" every other line doesn't count as dialogue. This season is also filled with so much plot that doesn't make sense or add to the story (The Rats, why?). This show is devolving into just another teen fantasy melodrama, leaving behind the gritty, nuanced story that made us love the story in the first place.
