This show has always been precise and clean in its execution. So to see an episode that lacks reason is disappointing, especially this close to the season finale.
The bright spot in this week's otherwise pretty sad [episode]...Even though the episode chronicles The Big Three's high school graduations, it makes us sit through exactly zero minutes of the hackneyed speeches.
The way everything tied together emphasized for the first time that the power of The Big Three.
This Is Us has its faults, but it's pretty special to have a show that lovingly highlights the always-evolving, complicated, unique bond between siblings.
This Is Us is clearly trying to test them. But is the show, like Rebecca or Deja, too afraid of real change and growth? "The Graduates" indicates that may be the case.
This is a really good episode for Rebecca, who gets some incredibly sweet present-day scenes and some really complicated flashback ones.
Even for "This Is Us," it was groan-worthy. This show's crime isn't usually excess sentimentality, but sentimentality done poorly.
