Three Rivers: Season 1 (2009-2010)

Critic Consensus: A run-of-the-mill medical drama, Three Rivers offers little beyond an attractive cast to stand out from the pack.

Tv Season Info

This medical drama follows the team at Three Rivers Medical Center, an acclaimed transplant hospital, during their day-to-day challenges and duties. Lead surgeon Dr. Andy Yablonski (Alex O'Loughlin) is highly skilled but works too hard; Dr. Miranda Foster (Katherine Moennig) is following in her father's footsteps and trying to live up to his reputation; resident Dr. David Lee (Daniel Henney) is somewhat of a womanizer who is more interested in his romantic connections; newcomer Ryan Abbott (Christopher J. Hanke) is finding the demands of the job harder than he expected; and surgical supervisor Dr. Sophia Jordan (Alfre Woodard) is brilliant and experienced but struggles to keep everyone in line. A unique perspective is given, as each case is seen through the eyes of the surgical team, the recipient and the donor.

"Three Rivers" is just more TV gurney sprinting - the same material that drove "ER'' for 15 seasons.

It's entirely possible that a great series could have this as its sole subject, but "Heartland" wasn't that show and neither is "Three Rivers."

Maybe "Three Rivers" just needs its own transplant.

You can be reasonably certain a show may have problems if you can't decide whether it's a comedy or a drama.

The medical cliches, the bad acting, and the poor character development, however, may not even end up being the biggest problems for "Three Rivers."

It's an adequate, conventional CBS-y medical drama.
