Deep in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, a recently emigrated police sheriff and his family try their best to survive in a charming mountain town rife with crime and corruption. Sheriff Jim Worth struggles with the ghosts of his past as he attends AA meetings, and his wife, Angela, tries to integrate in the town of Little Big Bear. At the same time, a massive oil company, North Stream Oil, opens a refinery just out of town, bringing with it a swath of migrant workers, rising crime levels, and pollution. When a friend of Jim's dies under mysterious circumstances written off as a suicide, he butts heads with representatives of the oil firm when he tries to uncover the truth of the matter.

Dark, Comical, engaging and I really cared about these characters.Season 2 The writers spent way too much time in the religious community focus(and unneeded additional Amish characters.Season Three..I Want My Money Back! Worst series ending of Anything I've ever seen!The writer (Joffe) basically gave us all the middle finger! Back at ya!We watch Three Seasons with these characters..so they can jump?Never watch anything by this writer ever again! See more r b @RT96986698 09/17/2022 Season 3 is only six episodes but it seems they entered the season with not enough story line to justify it. So the second episode is ridiculous. Not sure if I am supposed to be amused, charmed or impressed. Were they suddenly going for wacky? In its own way, I guess it is wacky but not the reason I watched this show. Also they wander around but only take advantage of a situation once. Maybe they don't actually want to kill everybody? Well, it isn't funny or cute and I am not impressed. Not sure if I will watch the remaining four episodes. If I do, and find they are extraordinary, the second episode kills the season anyway so I won't be editing this.
