TLC's first scripted series -- written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry -- is an eight-part drama that chronicles Anna's journey from a low-income Alabama upbringing to a high-brow lifestyle among political elites in Washington, D.C. A major scandal, however, exposes Anna's checkered past, and with nowhere to turn, she's forced to find sanctuary in the only place she has left -- home. Back in the ironically named Happy, Ala., Anna reunites with her controlling mother and her two sisters, one of whom is a drug addict. There's also unfinished business to confront with her high school sweetheart.
