Series 4 begins with CIA agent Rex Matheson being required to investigate a global conspiracy that threatens to completely wipe out the entire human race. One day, people realise that they are not ageing (despite being able to get hurt and sick), and that they are unable to die. Initially calling it 'Miracle Day', things take an ominous turn when they realise that they are in the midst of a population boom, and that the human race may in fact cease to be viable. The answers seem to lie within Torchwood, which was destroyed years ago...
