Tv Season Info
A cute documentary-style series about a group of novice small-town filmmakers who have spent six years trying to shoot a zombie movie called Thr33 Days Dead, the show... features funny characters whose rudimentary skills make for comical situations.
If you can get past the reality show gimmickry, Town of the Living Dead is entertaining in a ha-ha-look-at-the-amateurs-and-yocals kind of way.
While I'm not usually a fan of this sort of show, and there are moments of supposedly "real" life in Jasper that are obviously staged, the series doesn't so much mock these yokels' ineptitude as admire their stubborn, proud tenacity.
Based on tonight's two-episode premiere, I wouldn't start popping the corn just yet. Which doesn't mean it's not worth checking on the progress (or lack of it) on a project that evokes the spirit of... Night of the Living Dead.
While this represents a lower-octane way to chase after The Walking Dead's footprint than the recent drama Z Nation, it's still a rather uninspired addition to reality TV's hillbilly chic craze, aimed at those apt to swallow anything they see on TV.
