Critic Reviews for Transplant Season 1

All Critics (7) | Top Critics (3)

If Transplant is generally fine, the Transplant pilot, written by Kay and directed with an assured hand by Holly Dale, is especially good.

Sep 2, 2020 | Full Review…

The series will make its debut as the best medical show on American television, which is something given the competition (even just on NBC).

Aug 28, 2020 | Full Review…

It's not entirely original, but certainly superior to the usual and disarmingly different.

Feb 27, 2020 | Full Review…

Graphic medical drama has a refreshingly diverse cast.

Oct 12, 2020 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…

This Canadian drama about a Syrian refugee/doc who must start his residency all over again offers a fresh perspective and an engaging fix for fans of medical shows.

Sep 17, 2020 | Full Review…

Transplant feels like two different shows... and the two really don't mix.

Sep 1, 2020 | Full Review…

Transplant is a high-gloss, middle-of-the-road broadcast drama. It's ER with an immigration story overlay, but it doesn't redefine the medical drama the way ER did in 1994. The pilot episode is particularly frustrating.

Audience Reviews for Transplant: Season 1

This show is a really good show. Good story lines and the cast are really good.

It's OK but I find it very difficult to understand what the characters are saying with both the Canadian accent and the foreign accents. I lose too much in the dialogue and miss important parts of the conversations.
  • Sep 17, 2020
Stop ruining good shows with politics.

I enjoyed this show. I generally watch comedys and I fast forwarded the first part at the restaurant due to not caring about the characters. I saw the envelope and Bash wondering around the hospital and really enjoyed that and I was curious what was inside it. I have binged watched all of Season 1 and I really enjoy all the characters.

I usually judge a new show by the first 10 minutes of it. While it may have picked up later, I was not impressed by the start and gave up on it.

It is an interesting concept, I guess, but the initial presentation is a bit unbelievable - some random guy stumbles around saving people's lives while generally bleeding all over the place, impressing the future female love-interest - eventually sneaking around the hospital looking for a small child. "Hey, kid - I almost died...have an iPhone! I survived, so now you can play Candy Crush! You're really important to me, but I only have one scene with you!" Then, the guy who finished 3rd in the casting call for 'House' hires him since he is a stealthy medical genius with an unlimited supply of blood. And the acting - wow, the acting is just...terrible. Let's all calmly read our lines in the middle of a life-and-death situation in the ER! I am not sure if the racially-profiling-cop-dude is a recurring character, but he wins the 'creepy guy of the show' award... Gripping.

I am really enjoying this series -- seems realistic with many of the issues in an urban hospital and a global community. Heartwarming and heart wrenching.

I have enjoyed the story line of Transplant wanting to see more
