This crime drama follows members of a police department as they try to uncover a mystery against the elements. In a fjord near a small Icelandic town, a ferry arrives from Denmark with 300 passengers -- but only their journey stops here. A storm overhead and a treacherous blizzard prevent the ferry and the townspeople from leaving the remote area. When a dismembered, mutilated body washes up onshore, the local police realize a murder has taken place just hours earlier. Everybody trapped in the vicinity immediately becomes potential suspects and chaos descends as they try to find the killer.

Even without all these promising plot angles, Trapped was worth watching for its chill beauty alone. Go to Full Review

Kormakur transcends Nordic Noir cliche with some uniquely Icelandic touches, from majestic Everest-style aerial shots of the icy volcanic landscape to the swelling, droning, unsettling score by...Jhann Jhannsson. Go to Full Review

Brace yourself, this is a dense, circuitous and rewarding series. Go to Full Review

[lafur Darri lafsson] may not be your typical leading man for such a drama, but he's why you'll keep watching. Go to Full Review

Lynnette B @Lynnette4444 Jan 21 a new favorite, top 10 show. Amazing filming, directing, and acting. very real characters and story line, yet also very suspenseful and interesting. LOVE. See more CT 8 @ct8787 12/17/2023 This is one of the best limited series I've ever seen. The setting is bleak and perfect. Andre and the rest of the cast are excellent. Some nice twists and turns along the way and you have the makings of a classic series. Not quite sure why Europe seems to be producing such high quality programs these days while Hollywood is producing nothing but garbage, but I'll take quality film making where I can get it. See more petar p @RT11166575 01/02/2023 This is an absolute classic in the making. Really, there is no need to make a list, basically everything is perfect. Characters feel realistic, they make realistic decisions, policemen are not like Sherlock Holmes, they make decisions which are impulsive, rushed, and most importantly-human. I haven't seen a town backstory so fantastically interwoven into the present plot. Also, there are like 4 or more subplots that all interwove into a single point in the final. When you look at it later, you just marvel at it, it is just so brilliant. This is a must watch for gritty and realism grounded detective tv shows fans. See more eric s @Emstoe 07/03/2022 Holy shit how did this rank 100%? So disappointing. Everything about this is meh. Story, acting, dialogue, plot…it's like an unnecessarily long generic TV crime drama with tepid soap opera drama that goes no where. Scenery is great. Could have easily been pared down to 6 episodes. And still would be just ok, but wouldn't take as much time away from watching another Nordic noir more fulfilling. See more 01/25/2022 Really liked it. Visually nicely presented, cold and gritty, nice twists and detective process, however story did feel a bit slow at times. Not sure, perhaps it is meant to be so and that is just a characteristic of the Nordic noire? See more Alexander W @Pandante 02/24/2021 You can feel the cold and the sense of being trapped, but the characters are what make the first season more than watchable. See more Read all reviews
