Produced by "Line of Duty" creator Jed Mercurio, "Trigger Point" follows experienced bomb disposal operative Lana Washington, an ex-military bomb disposal operative and Afghan War veteran. She is pushed to her breaking point as she deals with a series of improvised explosive devices that threaten London during a summer terror campaign. Under extreme pressure from the public and her superiors, and in search of answers, Lana suspects that the targets on her team are premeditated and must race to discover the bomber's real identity.

The new season addresses the implausible plotting -- it’s now wildly implausible. But as corny as this series gets, it moves fast and it has a magnetic lead performance from McClure. You can’t cut her wires. Go to Full Review

By sticking to what it does best, Trigger Point manages to blow away the competition. Go to Full Review

As long as the episodes of Trigger Point‘s second season continue to show Lana and the rest of the expo squad escape one tense situation after the other... the show will continue to be entertaining, even if the overall terrorist plot is just meh. Go to Full Review

So let me recommend UK’s wonderfully silly, ruthlessly tense bomb-squad police drama Trigger Point, which is about to release its second season here in the US and will not tax your brain, nor release you from its grip. Go to Full Review

It’s all about the explosions in Vicky McClure’s bomb-disposal drama and perhaps even if the script was of Aaron Sorkin or David Chase standard, we’d still be hanging about, waiting for the next big blast. Go to Full Review

Andy R @HonestJohn Oct 24 Series 1 wen downhill from episode 1 when they killed off Adrian Lester. Series 2 is no better. The writing is weaker than a cup of tea made with tepid water. Shoddy plotlines and predictable character dialog. Attempted character development ends up in blind alleys and leaves you regretting giving series 2 a go because "well perhaps they have better budget and writing this time around", but no. Vicky McClure is better than this. See more Sarah M 03/08/2024 Much improvement on season 1! See more Dave C 02/28/2024 Having rewatched Series 1&2 recently, I think my frustration stems from 'Wash's' character traits. On the rewatch back-to-back, Series 2 is better than I remember, because of the aforementioned. She is meant to frustrate and annoy - she's antagonistic. It seems to be a curse of ITV productions, that they rarely seem to reach a level of creative, inspired, and truly engaging drama. This is the same. There are too many wholly predictable elements, and some poor acting and directing See more Nick B 02/15/2024 follows the exploits of an unusually busy bomb disposal expert, compulsively watchable despite tick box casting and totally unbelievable plot line. Comes across as a mix of Touch of cloth with Fawlty Towers. One to suspend disbelief and enjoy. See more Bryan S 02/13/2024 Great action and wild plot - great fun. Excellent performance by Vicky McClure who just gets better. See more Andrew Arthur M 02/09/2024 Ho Hum it's Vicky McClure once again seemingly the only police bomb disposal expert in London and as it with such things we get an explosion or not . What this poor weak and dull drama needs an explosion to shake up the wooden acting , plodding pace and anything resembling tension. Yes it's very clear that the lions share of the production budget was spent on VM's fee as it was definitely not spent on the special effects department. So we have a supposed massive bomb planted in a mobile toilet ( were they just going through the motions I wonder? ) that would have flattened the huge rambling country house to smithereens . No ,not at all as all we get is that mobile WC facility and a Land Rover turned to confetti. Maybe the problem with both this and the first series is that VM is credited as one of the producers therefore the shooting match relies on her in virtually every scene. Whilst she was excellent in Line-of Duty , and the drama where she works in an office and superb in the Joseph Conrad story of the Secret Agent McClure deserves better than this load of waffle Frankly I am shocked to see this second series of Trigger Point See more Read all reviews
