By drawing on familiar themes and leaving out the scene-setting, Trigun leaves a lot of room for chases, comic misunderstandings and wacky encounters... this is mostly an over-the-top comedy show that focuses on giant guns and super-deformed slapstick.

A lesson in superb science fiction storytelling... Trigun starts as a comedy and progresses slowly toward something more refined and dynamic.

The animation may be a bit dated, given that the show came out in 1998, but the story, the characters, and the soundtrack more than make up for any shortcomings in the animation department.

Drenched in the tropes of American Westerns and nods to Christian mythology... The English dub is pretty much equal to the Japanese original, making it an easy entry for American genre fans.
