It ended up having a little more depth that that genre generally offers. It was reasonably engaging and entertaining. Not great, but okay. Great coming of age drama with believable, relatable lead characters and sharp pacing. Not sure why this got as many stinko reviews as it did, but then we can't all like the same things. May be for the best this one's only going two seasons. I like it a lot, but it's a concept that has a limited character arc life, given the premise and the age of the characters (once they're done with high school it's gonna/gotta be over). Then again I thought The Affair was good for two seasons at most and they dragged that out for 5. Conversely they cancelled Bunheads after 1 season and I thought that should have gone for forever.
