Season 2 is more than just a return to the magic and mythology of the series' previous 26 episodes; it expands the show's fantasy elements, allows the relationships to mature, and takes bold chances with the story's narrative structure.

I kinda binged my way through this series and lost my way through the darklands and the definite story arcs between the seasons. But I'm enjoying the character arcs, and am beginning to feel for the characters as they face new mysteries and foes. I'm also not entirely sure what happened at the end of the season, which I think was the sentencing, but I suppose I can always go back and re-watch it.

Excellent Story... Besides Guillermo Del Toro amazing again.

A more intriguing second season, Trollhunters mixes good animation, decent action sequences and great writing along with Guillermo del Toro's sense of enthusiasm and wonder to make for an entertaining second part. It is impressive that Anton Yelchin somehow managed to record all his lines before he died for Part 2...oh my God, he's a zombie. Once again, the villains are what makes the show worth watching and the episodes allow room for del Toro's imagination. Two characters even get a day in the limelight. All leading up to one of the best visuals in the entire series and a great ending that plays out like a Marvel-style post-credits scene. Sure, it has its cringy moments. But it's a kids show and the fact that the good stuff overshadows the bad makes the show all the more entertaining.

It's time now for Gunmar to prepare to face the Trollhunters! SEASON 02: I don't know how to begin, because I loved the first season. The review was one of the longest I've ever written for any title. But this follow up season did not stand up to that standard. It's still a nice show with nice animation and all, I enjoyed watching it, though lesser. I don't know what made it fall slightly. Maybe the first season had awesome villains and adventures, which totally lacked in this. Angor Rot, Strickler, Nomura, NotEnrique, particularly Bular, the son of Gunmar was brilliant. If only half of these guys had returned in full scale, the fate of the season would have been different. That's not a big deal if they had introduced similar, powerful villains. But the Gunmar looked so weaker than his son. Especially they were too much hyped about Gunmar previously. Now he's here and had nothing big role. So I'm anticipating his part would come in the next season. Looks that way that they're saving him for the finale. Anyway, like I said, I liked it. If you had liked the first, you would like this as well. I'm happy they had only half the episodes compared to the first. Sweet and short. The third and final season would come at the end of this year, so I'm eagerly looking forward to know how it all ends. Besides, I've not read the book, but surely Del Toro won't disappoint us. 7/10

Guillermo Del Toro at his best. There isn’t a weak spot in this entire series. From the visual effects, plot, and voices. Pure excellence. If you’re a fan of Hellboy, you’ll enjoy this.
