We can understand if you wrote this off at first (that title is awful), but "Trophy Wife" turned out to be a sweet family comedy.

Warm, sly, and very, very funny.

Akerman is reason enough to buy in for at least a few episodes.

Thanks to appealing female leads and a clever script, Trophy Wife transcends its simplistic title.

The half-hour is loaded with issues and it's all too sudden and sitcom-random...but these things happen.

Akerman bumps into things with abandon and just the right glimmer of grace. Her knees knock and her limbs fold up like a newborn colt, learning to walk. But her show, anyway, already has legs.

Despite all the things working against itself in the Trophy Wife pilot - having its protagonist be drunk for half the episode chief among them - there's a certain charm and confidence to the show's opening episode.

If the writers manage to iron out the few wrinkles the show has, Trophy Wife could become a decent hit for the network.

There aren't a ton of laugh-out-loud moments. In fact, the pilot inspires more smiles than guffaws. However, as sitcoms go, this one isn't bad.

You know exactly where this one is going and yet it works for the most part.

It has a few laughs but doesn't deserve any trophies.

There's a tremendous energy to Trophy Wife, making it a delightful comedy that's far more wholesome than its title implies.

Surprisingly cuter than I expected. And Albert Tsai is great. Every time he winks I cry laughing.

This show is horrible! The writing is not at all witty and the cast isn't talented enough to fake it.

This new comedy sees a somewhat different story, with a wife of a lawyer with two other ex-wives, and children from the past two, which creates comedic diversity. This series has its flaws, including its dependence on drinking and sex jokes, but it also provides a rather satirical view of what is considered a rather provocative lifestyle and family.
