Critic Reviews for True Jackson, VP Season 1
All Critics (5) | Top Critics (4) | Fresh (5) | Rotten (0)
As almost an incidental bonus, "True Jackson" also tosses in some subtle satire on the fashion biz itself. It's not profound, but at its best moments, it's stylish and fun.
''True Jackson VP'' scores its comic points, ''Ugly Betty''-style, with office politics and the foibles of the fashion world.
But the heart of the matter is Palmer, who easily plays both sassy and serious, broad comedy and subtle, and has great appeal.
There are some better-than-expected interludes - such as True's epiphany about the similarities between a workplace and high school.
Teen's overnight success is unrealistic -- but fun for kids.
