Critic Reviews for Trust Me Season 1

All Critics (21) | Top Critics (13)

Underneath the sitcom setups and witty banter, this show moves to the pulse of the ad game. The mystique and power of raw ideas push this story as surely as they push the characters of "Mad Men."

"Trust Me" is clever and likeable.

Oct 11, 2019 | Full Review…

Trust Me all too often feels like going to work. Couldn't there be more fun in this office?

Oct 11, 2019 | Full Review…

Everything happens quickly -- scenes, cameos, comments and quips fly by. But nothing is throwaway or stupid, and in the midst of laughter, the emotion, when it comes, feels real. That's good acting.

Oct 11, 2019 | Full Review…

"Trust Me" qualifies as an underwhelming addition to the Turner channel's portfolio - worthy perhaps of a spot in the bullpen if the Mason-Conner dynamic evolves, but hardly a candidate for that big corner office.

Top Critic

No, it's not "quality cable TV" or Top 10 list material, and it's marred by lapses into character cutesiness. But still, I liked it. It's likable.

Oct 11, 2019 | Full Review…

Growth is necessary for any network but it's often accompanied by growing pains and that's certainly the case with "Trust Me," a not-bad/not-great series that's more interesting for the ideas it puts forth than it is

Oct 11, 2019 | Full Review…

Trust me, there is almost nothing in this drama that works.

Oct 11, 2019 | Full Review…

The cast is the show's saving grace, even if the extremely likable [Eric] McCormack and [Tom] Cavanagh just seem to be essentially copying elements and rhythms of their past performances.

Oct 11, 2019 | Rating: 3/4 | Full Review…

[Griffin] Dunne and [Eric] McCormick have an easy rapport, and it's their relationship that seems the most grounded and rich with possibility.

Oct 11, 2019 | Full Review…

Unless you have an aversion to [Tom] Cavanagh or [Eric] McCormack this is a show you ought to at least try. Trust me.

Audience Reviews for Trust Me: Season 1

  • Jan 13, 2018
This was terrific, think you know how this is going to go? Then think again, without giving away anything, there's a lot of shock moments that you wouldn't expect. This series keeps you on your toes and constantly guessing what's going to happen, the producer did a terrific job of portraying her fears onto the audience as you felt every moment that Ali did. Jodie did a terrific job in her doctor role before becoming the real Doctor this year.
