Lack of nuance is a huge problem for Tyrant, a tragedy considering the depiction of a foreign region's struggles is a pure exercise in nuance.

Tyrant is clearly trying to understand the desperation and horror in places like Syria and Yemen without trivializing that desperation.

This project from Gideon Raff and Howard Gordon suddenly exhibits the potential to become a fairly entertaining one, with the disclaimer that the terrain still contains an abundance of storytelling sand traps.
