What to Know

Critics Consensus

Unchosen may get lost in its character-driven thrill ride orbit too long to rein in its more melodramatic tendencies, but it recovers well enough to deliver an entertaining roller coaster of emotions.

The narrative moves quickly, sometimes stretching the plot's plausibility, but Windsor is a worthy anchor as a young woman reappraising everything she believes about the wider world and her possible place in it. Go to Full Review

Unchosen could have been a strong drama about one woman’s attempts to break away from a religious community... But Unchosen heads into weak thriller territory, complete with a car chase and a silly kidnap. Go to Full Review

Should you choose Unchosen? no. Leave it unchosen. it’s practically asking you to.That’s a pretty bold title for a show this underwhelming. Go to Full Review

While strong performances and an eerie atmosphere keep it engaging, uneven pacing and predictable storytelling prevent it from reaching its full potential. Go to Full Review

Greta H @chandaapricot Aug 29 When you've seen one TV show or movie about a cult, you have effectively seen them all. This isn't a bad show. It's just not doing anything new or creative here. As for the performances, they are ok. Nothing special. Anyway, it feels like something that would air on a Tuesday night on ITV. See more Janet C @karita76 Aug 28 I thought the dialogue was quite clunky and most of the actors' delivery very awkward. It reminded me a bit of when you watch a foreign language drama and try the English dubbing but quickly revert to the original language + subtitles because it the dubbing is so awful. See more Roseann B @branch626 Aug 27 I gave up on it after a couple of episodes. A miserable dark slog in my opinion. See more Patti G @RT678905342107 Aug 25 I found it a bit odd to be honest and I probably would have given up on it, but as there were only 6 episodes I decided to stick it out to the end and see what happened. See more Timothy Y @RT96925262 Aug 23 I have grown extremely tired of these newer shows just filling a story with people just being incredibly awful human beings. It left such a sour taste in my mouth after watching the latter few episodes. Even the small stuff like the amount of doors that were not closed and locked when they were being chased by Sam the convict. Like that just pisses me off and is so unbelievable. The show had potential but toward the end was so frustrating to watch and didn't feel good at all. I get that it is a thriller, mystery but still. I'm trying to watch a good story with well drawn plots, not Sam being a garbage human being while others are trapped in their garbage life. Pissed I even wasted my time with this show. See more Diann B @RT5689042217386 Aug 4 It's utterly stupid, you have a convict (doing time for murder) that's escaped from prison, media on high alert and walking around with cult members in the open and no one recognizes him?
