The zany comedy about a group of close-knit friends who are, as the title suggests, undateable, returns for a completely live third season. And although they are still mostly hapless on the romance front, in the season opener, bar owner Justin (Brent Morin) finally takes things with waitress Candace (Bridgit Mendler) to the next level, putting an end to the whole "will they or won't they" game. Meanwhile, Justin gets lucky with the quality of guest bands performing at his dive, the Black Eyes Bar, in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale, with appearances by the Backstreet Boys, Weezer, Nico and Vinz, Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, just to name a few. With the show's live format, jokes are more topical, including references to Empire spoilers and the State of the Union; and there's an interactive element that allows for some fun---for example, when Danny (Chris D'Elia) answers a phone call from a viewer. Another sweet, but still humorous episode addresses the November 13 Paris attacks. There are some notable celeb cameos, too: Whitney Cummings reunites with her former Whitney boyfriend when she joins the cast for a multi-episode arc as Danny's potential perfect match; and Christa Miller, the real-life wife of Undateable creator Bill Lawrence, appears as the older woman to whom Danny lost his virginity. David Fynn, Rick Glassman, Ron Funches and Bianca Kajlich round out the ensemble cast.
