J.J. Abrams' "Undercovers" is a woebegone spy drama with nary a hint of intelligence. Call it "The Quantum of Stupor."

I've never been so disappointed in an offering bearing the name J. J. Abrams until now. I can only hope that something changes, and soon. Otherwise Undercovers will find itself over and out.

Undercovers is fast and formidable, but it's also forgettable.

In reality, "Undercovers" is disappointing. There's potential there for a fun show, but when Abrams is co-writing (with Josh Reims) and directing... you expect more than potential.

[It's] not particularly original, but at least it has fun getting there.

But it's still missing the mark for me because it's just not particularly well-executed as a spy thriller.

Overall, Undercovers is adequate, well-made, well-cast, but so suffocatingly middle-of-the-road and afraid to take any risks that it'll bore most of its audience.

But this is escapist fare and escaping with this couple wouldn't be the worst way to spend an hour. It's likable enough and the performances make it fun.

For those that tune in, you won't see any groundbreaking television or sub-plots hinting that there's something "larger" going other than what's being shown - what you see is what you get.

While the concept is familiar and at times recycled, J.J. Abrams' Undercovers delivers an espionage thriller with a dash of romantic comedy that certainly entertains.

We get the breezy nod to classic series like Hart to Hart and Scarecrow and Mrs. King -- but it would be nice to get that style with a side of substance.

"Undercovers:" quite possibly one of the best meldings of the two sides of Abrams thus far.

When I write that "Undercovers is basically a slicker, more expensive, less geeky version of 'Chuck,'" that's not quite meant as an insult. The pilot is stylish, sexy and, at its best, quite fun.

Spy dramas sometimes get too enamored of their own twists, subplots and dark details, but this one never becomes impenetrable.

Adventure is always more fun when there's romantic frisson in the background.

With dazzling action scenes and a pair of stars who ooze charm and sensuality, Undercovers easily overcomes its predictability.

Undercovers, a creation that is more hype than heft, is from J.J. Abrams. No, it isn't as good as those shows ["Alias," "Fringe," and "Dollhouse"], but it is still a lot of fun.

I'll keep watching, in the hopes that 'Undercovers' does not remain weightless and rote underneath its glossy exterior.

Feels a bit undercooked.

It's Alias for people who believe that the best parts of Alias were the first ten minutes of any given episode, and who could have done without the rest.
